   If your company has 300 active employees whereby an employee needs to log for attendance 4 times a day, then the terminal specifications you choose should be:  
   - Number of Users: 300 x 2 = 600 Fingerprint Templates (minimum) assuming 2 different finger's fingperints are recorded per employee.
   - Log Capacity: 300 x 4 x 30 = 3600 Log (minimum)

2. Fingerprint Read Speed Type
   The ability to read employee fingerprints when performing attendance needs to be considered. Make sure to choose fingerprint attendance devices that are able to read users' fingerprints in less than 2 seconds. This is needed to avoid employees queueing during attendance check. 

3. Indicators of Success or Failure
   The fingerprint attendance tool should be able to display information on success or failure during attendance checks both in the form of LCD displays and clear LED indicators. It would be better if the fingerprint attendance tool is able to display the name and information of the employee. 

4. Environmental Resilience
   If your, fingerprint attendance will be placed in an Industrial structure, ensure that your fingerprint device is “tough” and can serve employees in the typical “rough” manner. Choose a fingerprint attendance device that has a casing which is resistant to pressure, impact, light, heat and humidity. 

5. Communication Media
   There are many communication facilities on the fingerprint attendance device. Such as TCP/IP, RS232, RS4985, Wiegand, Wifi, USB Cable, or using a USB Flash Disk or even support accessed from the internet. Although having more facilities will be better, your needs must be adjusted because the more communication facilities, the price of a fingerprint attendance machine will also be more expensive. 

6. Support for Development Feature
   Attendance machines are included in the Biometric category. Which is a device which uses the human body as a tracker. Biometric tools can also be used as an identification and regulation of access rights in an area. 

   If your company intends to use the access control feature, try to have the fingerprint attendance device that you would like to buy already supporting this so you do not have to further invest on it. 

7. Supporting Software
   In addition to fingerprinting devices, a good attendance system also needs to be able to support software that is able to process the employee absence log as well. The software should also be able to support employee work shifts, overtime arrangements, leave and etc., while also providing a variety of detailed employee attendance reports and recap. 

8. Budget
   If your company experiences budget constraints, you can look for vendors with a rental system, so that your company is not burdened with investment and maintenance costs that are fairly expensive at the beginning of the implementation. 9. Vendor and Software Services
   Look for vendors selling fingerprint attendance machines that provide good after-sale services.
